San Leandro, California, and Washington, D.C

Cuberg today announced that the company has joined the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) as an Associate Member sitting on the Electric Propulsion & Innovation Committee. Cuberg's leadership is looking forward to lending their perspective on safe energy storage systems for advanced air mobility to the important conversations being convened by GAMA in Washington and Brussels.

Richard Wang, Cuberg's Founder and CEO, comments: "The shift to electric propulsion is the most profound technological change in aviation since the invention of the turbine engine. GAMA, in their role as industry convener and facilitator, will help ensure that this transition is safe for pilots and passengers by building on their deep experience dating back to 1970. We are proud to be part of this prestigious organization and join these crucial conversations."

Cuberg is building a safe and fully certifiable aviation battery system based on its lithium-metal battery technology. Cuberg’s vertically integrated manufacturing methods are designed to optimize the unique capabilities of next-generation lithium-metal anode cells while meeting quality and safety standards that conform with aviation requirements. The batteries will be manufactured under an FAA approved quality system that meets AS 9100 quality management system standards for aerospace industry products.

Cuberg is a fully owned subsidiary of Swedish battery manufacturer Northvolt.

We welcome Cuberg to GAMA and look forward to working with them during this exciting and innovative time in aviation. We will value their participation and expertise in our Electric Propulsion and Innovation Committee (EPIC).
